The World without people...

The World Without People...

Imagine if one minute from now, every single person on Earth disappeared. All 6.6 billion of us. Human history just stopped. What would happen to the world without us?

At the other end of the chronological spectrum, anything made of bronze might survive in recognizable form for millions of years—along with one billion pounds of degraded but almost indestructible plastics manufactured since the mid-20th century.

Meanwhile, land freed from mankind's environmentally poisonous footprint would quickly reconstitute itself, as in Chernobyl, where animal life has returned after 1986's deadly radiation leak, and in the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea, a refuge since 1953 for the almost-extinct goral mountain goat and Amur leopard.

Many of the buildings in Manhattan are anchored to bedrock. But even if they have steel beam foundations, these structures were not designed to be waterlogged all the time. So eventually buildings would start to topple and fall.

Once the power goes off, the pumps stop working. Once the pumps stop working, the subways start filling with water. Within 48 hours you’re going to have a lot of flooding in New York City. Some of this would be visible on the surface. You might have some sewers overflowing. Those sewers would very quickly become clogged with debris—in the beginning the innumerable plastic bags that are blowing around the city and later, if nobody is trimming the hedges in the parks, you’re going to have leaf litter clogging up the sewers.

There are places in Manhattan where they’re constantly fighting rising underground rivers that are corroding the tracks. You stand in these pump rooms, and you see an enormous amount of water gushing in. And down there in a little box are these pumps, pumping it away. So, say human beings disappeared tomorrow. One of the first things that would happen is that the power would go off. A lot of our power comes out of nuclear or coal-fired plants that have automatic fail-safe switches to make sure that they don’t go out of control if no humans are monitoring their systems

 Just imagine.

Cinnamon Challenge?!

Its been going around for over a year for now and you've probably heard about it. If you have and wondered about it at all here's the info.

What is the Cinnamon Challenge?
Urban Dictionary.com says:

A prank in which one person dares another to swallow, without the aid of water, a spoonful of ground cinnamon within sixty seconds. The spice dries the challenge taker's mouth and is almost impossible to swallow. Some accidentally inhale the cinnamon which causes temporary but severe chest pain, much to the amusement of the challenger.

Challengers use prize money as persuasion.
"Dude, come here!"
"What?"
"Ever heard of the Cinnamon Challenge?"
"No, what is it?"
"See if you can swallow this spoonful of cinnamon in under a minute."
"Why?"
"Because I'll give you five dollars if you can do it."
"Okay!"
(ten seconds later)
"Ahuuuuuuuh! Ahouhou! Ugh that's awful!"

The truth: Wiki says The Cinnamon Challenge...
Cinnamon is the subject of an internet meme, The Cinnamon Challenge, in which one attempts to eat a tablespoon of cinnamon without inhaling the cinnamon or vomiting. Despite thousands of video-documented attempts, few seem able to succeed. One notable challenger was the host of the television show Tosh.0, who failed. Most don't seem to realize that, even if breathing through their nose, they usually inhale the cinnamon dust, resulting in a very painful and probably dangerous experience. It takes a great deal of liquid to saturate a tablespoon of powder. This dust is easily carried in any air that is shared between the mouth and throat. Often the challengers then panic and gasp for air through their mouth, inhaling a large amount of cinnamon.

It can kill you.

Don't try this at home people!

Ain't it the Truth!?! Funny Fwds

Ain't it the Truth!!!

A woman goes to the doctor for her yearly physical.

The nurse starts with certain basic items.

"How much do you weigh?" she asks.

"115," she says.

The nurse puts her on the scale.

It turns out her weight is 140.

The nurse asks, "Your height?"

"5 foot 8," she says.

The nurse checks and sees that she only measures 5' 5".

She then takes her blood pressure

And tells the woman it is very high.

"Of course it's high!" she screams,

"When I came in here I was tall and slender!

Now I'm short and fat!"

Husband: Oh, come on.
Wife: Leave me alone!
Husband: It won't take long.
Wife: I won't be able to sleep afterwards.
Husband: I can't sleep without it.
Wife: Why do you think of things like this in the middle of the night?
Husband: Because I'm Hot.
Wife: You get hot at the darnedest times.
Husband: If you love me I wouldn't have to beg you.
Wife: If you love me you'd be more considerate.
Husband: You don't love me anymore.
Wife: Yes I do, but let's forget it for tonight.
Husband: Please...come on
Wife: Alright, I'll do it.
Husband: What's the matter? Need a flashlight?
Wife: I can't find it.
Husband: Oh, for heaven's sake, feel for it!
Wife: There! Are you satisfied?
Husband: Oh, yes.
Wife: Is it up far enough?
Husband: Oh, that's good.
Wife: Now go to sleep and from now on when you want the window open, do it yourself.

Subject: Bertha's Eulogy...

Bertha was dead. The minister conducted her eulogy with heartfelt gusto.

"Bertha married and had 13 children. Her husband died.
She married again and had 7 more children. Again, her
husband died. But, she married yet again and this time
had 5 more children. Again, her husband died. Then
alas, she finally died," he intoned.

Standing before her coffin, the preacher prayed for
Bertha. He thanked The Lord for this very loving woman
and said, "Lord, they're finally together."

Ethel leaned over and quietly asked her friend Jane,
"Do you think he means her first, second or third;  husband?"

Jane replied, "I think he means her legs."

Obsessions

A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with
four young mothers and their small children. "You all have
obsessions," he observed.

To the first mother, Mary, he said, "You are obsessed with
eating . You've even named your daughter Candy."

He turned to the second Mom, Ann: "Your obsession is with
money. Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny."

He turned to the third Mom, Joyce: "Your obsession is
alcohol. This too shows itself in your child's name, Brandy."

At this point, the fourth mother, Kathy, quietly got up, took her little boy by the hand and whispered, "Come on, Dick, we're leaving."

A few things I'd like to mention

Photobucket

To my brother Chris who turned 30 today!

He probably won't read this so no need to make it anymore personal than it already is:p

OMG makes me realize I'll be 30 in a little over 3 years!

That scares the f*&k out of me right there!

So anyways, the next note worth mentioning is:
Photobucket

I've been officially single, moved out, and over with it for 1 year today.
It doesn't really bother me though. I was in back to back to back 3 year relationships and now I'm just enjoying the single life. I do miss having someone. I miss being able to connect, cook for, and love someone, and spooning with someone! I miss spooning an awful lot. But I'll live. I've lived through the last year. I can live forever single if that's whats in the cards for me.

It just makes me think. Thinking is what I "try" to do best. But I think about if I will be alone forever. Do I want to be alone forever? Am I actually looking for anything? What am I looking for? And if it fell out of the sky and landed smack dab on my head would I even realize? I know 1 thing. I absolutely refuse to settle anymore. That's what I've done my whole life so far. I've never reached out and went after anything I wanted. I just let stuff fall into my lap and I've never truly been happy in doing so. So, unless I can change how I've done things all along, how I've been programmed I guess I will be alone...
